Where Is a Used Tesla Cheapest in Europe?
Tesla prices its used cars country by country, and the gap between markets can be thousands of euros. Here are today's medians for every European market.
A buyer's guide from Tesla Inventory Europe · Updated October 2026
Tesla sells used cars through a separate inventory in each country, with prices set locally. The same Model Y can cost noticeably more in one market than in its neighbour, depending on supply, local demand and taxes. Right now the median used Model Y costs €35,000 in the Netherlands, against €37,400 in Italy (among left-hand-drive markets with at least 10 cars).

How to read these numbers
- A median, not a like-for-like price. A country with many older, high-mileage cars will have a lower median even if each car is not cheaper. Compare similar cars before you decide.
- Prices include local VAT. VAT rates differ between countries — 8.1% in Switzerland, 17% in Luxembourg, up to 27% in Hungary, and Norway only partly applies VAT to electric cars — which explains part of the gap.
- UK and Irish cars are right-hand drive. Low medians there are of little use to buyers in the rest of Europe, and the UK is outside the EU, so importing adds customs formalities and import VAT.
- The cheapest market is not always the cheapest for you. Transport, registration taxes and paperwork in your own country can wipe out a saving of a few hundred euros.
Before you buy abroad
Buying in another EU country is legal and common, but check two things first: whether the car counts as "new" for VAT (6 months or less since first registration, or 6,000 km or less), and what registration tax your country charges. Our guide to buying a used Tesla in another country covers both. To compare individual cars across all markets at once, use the Tesla Inventory search with several countries selected.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which country has the cheapest used Teslas?
It changes over time, which is why the tables on this page are updated every day from Tesla's own used inventory. Countries with large fleets coming back from leases usually have the lowest medians, but always compare cars of similar age and mileage, not just the median.
Can I buy a used Tesla in another country and register it at home?
Within the EU you can, but you pay registration taxes in your own country and, for cars under 6 months old or with 6,000 km or less, VAT in your own country too. See our guide to buying a Tesla abroad before you commit.
Are the prices converted at today's exchange rate?
Yes. Prices from non-euro countries are converted to euros with recent European Central Bank reference rates, so a change in the exchange rate alone can move a country up or down the list.
